Native to Southern Peru, Northern Chile, Oreocereus hendricksenianus is a clustered columnar cactus that form groups up to 1.4 m tall and 20 cm in with. Suitable for small 'desert' gardens.
In summer, during the vegetative periods, it must be regularly watered, but allowing the substratum to completely dry up defore irrigating again; in winter, it's to be kept dry.
Prefers full sun exposure.
Repot in the spring, when their roots become cramped. In general they should be repotted every other year in order to provide fresh soil. After repotting, do not water for a week or more.
